Meizu MX unveiled, shipment starts on January 1

These days there’s been quite a bit buzz about Meizu’s long-expected MX Android phone. we’ve heard that Meizu’s dealers in China have begun to accept pre-orders for this phone a few days ago, and the phone’s rear shells were leaked in transport to Zhuhai City yesterday, but Meizu just kept silent. Now the company finally said something. Today on its official website the company fully unveiled Meizu MX.

From the published information, Meizu MX packs a 1.4GHz Samsung Exynos 4210 dual core chip, 1GB RAM, 16GB storage, 800-megapixel rear camera plus a 0.3 megapixel front camera, WCDMA and HSPA+ connectivity,an unremovable 1600mAh battery, a highly customized Android 2.3.5 OS coming with promise of future update to Android 4.0. All these things together are for a price of 2999 Yuan (about $470). The phone will arrive at the market on January 1 next year.

Meizu MX rear shell revealed

Words on the road said that Meizu MX will be released on December 8, but Meizu still hasn’t had any words about it. Nothing is sure, but the date definitely is very close now. Today a set of pictures that’re rumored to be rear shells of Meizu MX were circulating on Chinese websites, and Meizu fans’ longing no doubt rise higher. It’s said that these shells were leaked on the transport from the maker to Meizu company located in Zhuhai, China.

Meizu MX now available for pre-orders

Isn’t this too crazy? We even don’t know what Meizu MX looks like, but now almost all the Meizu dealers in China announced today in Meizu’s official forum that they start to accept pre-orders. Meizu company hasn’t showed even a picture of the Meizu MX to the world so far. The reason that Meizu so hurries to accept pre-orders may be because that its biggest rival Xiaomi company will make its Xiaomi phone available to everyone on 18th December. Before that day, Xiaomi Phones are only shipped to those that placed pre-orders.

However, Meizu still hasn’t given any words about the phone’s release day. But according to this report, Meizu will open a store in Hong Kong as its first step for entering International merket, and Meizu MX will be the first phone for sale on the store, and Meizu MX will be available at the end of this month, at the earliest.

It’s said that Meizu MX will come with a 1.4G Samsung Exynos 4210 processor, a 4 inches 960×640 sharp ASV display, 1GB RAM, 16GB storage, 8-megapixel camera, and the battery is bigger than 1650mAh.

Video: Gooapple V5 is the best iPhone 4 knockoff so far

Gooapple, as its name implies, combines two things: the design stolen from Apple and the free OS Android from Google. Ok, we have to admit it’s genius to pick up this name as their brand. The new stuff they right now is about to bring to the world is called Gooapple V5. Why not V4, They are even ahead of Apple right now? The fact is that V5 in Chinese have a meaning as “great, wonderful”. And it seems that they are not fooling us, this iPhone 4 knockoff seems really very wonderful, as you could see in the video below.

One thing the video especially emphasized is about the display. As the iPhone 4 does, this knockoff have the same Retina display. To prove this they disassemble the displays from both phones, and the one from GooApple works perfectly on iPhone 4. The resolutions of the display are 960*640, and OS is Android 2.3. The price mentioned in the video is 1/4 of iPhone 4′s. Other specifications are still not disclosed.

Apple products are becoming more popular than ever in China

China is currently seeing a rise in affluence and changing consumer preferences. This is reportedly instigating a rapid surge in revenues with more and more people buying Apple products. The growth can be seen from the following figures. In the fiscal year of 2009, only 2% of Apple’s sales took place in China. The next year however, this number rose to 12% and then as high as 16% in the last quarter. This is an annual rise of 270% and in the last 12 months, the nation has yielded $13bn for Apple. When you measure this against the $3bn figure a year earlier, you can see that this has been a significant rise.

New CEO of Apple, Tim Cook, has said that he has never seen a country that has this many people who buy Apple products. The rise in technology in many different countries all over the world is apparent, with many people owning mobile phones they purchased from the O2 website, or carrying laptops around with them. However, the specificity with which residents of China are going for Apple products is interesting. Cook has recognised that there are more and more people in this country who are rising to the middle class and aspiring to own a product that Apple has made.

Apple are now very eager to keep this success going and are placing additional investment here. Being the world’s most highly populated nation, China provides a very valuable opportunity for Apple to grow even larger than it is now. Apple has recently revealed its first branded retail branch in Hong Kong, as well as one in Shanghai. There are now more than 200 Apple Premium Resellers or chains that only sell Apple goods, as well as around 7,000 points of sale. An official e-commerce platform went live at the end of 2010 and by the looks of it, there is more expansion to come.

Shanzhai HTC HD7 handset with Windows Phone 7 alike UI

This Shanzhai HD7 doesn’t look much like HTC HD7, though its HTC style is obvious. They called it Shanzhai HD7 is rather because its huge display and UI. as the HTC HD7, this phone also gets a 4.8-inch display. Till now Microsoft still doesn’t allow its new generation mobile OS Windows Phone 7 to appear on Shanzhai phones, so no way this phone would have this OS. To relieve your disappointment, it gets a similar UI for you.

The system information said it gets a 1Ghz SnapDragon QSD825 chip. No doubt that’s a joke by Shanzhai maker, and is fake. It’s mostly likely that it’s powered by a MTK6516 chip. It runs windows Mobile 6.5, packing a 4.8-inch 480×800 capacitive touchscreen, 256MB RAM, 512MB ROM, dual sim support. Still no information about price and availability.

Nckla dual display phone, plus QWERTY keyboard

Nokia got beaten so hard at the phone market in the last two years. This more or less also cause negative effect on Nckla. This Shenzhen brand no doubt has lost lots of its flame, compared to what it got two years ago. We haven’t heard about it a long time. Now it’s back with a very interesting device that, as the title has said, has dual display.

This Nckla is very tiny, and gets a 1.5 inches tiny display on its lib, which allow you to dial phone numbers and see the coming call phone number. But after you open the phone, things hidden there would surprise. It gets another display that’s 2.4-inch, and even a qwerty keyboard. It gets dual sim support, and a 2-megapixel camera. The price is just around 300-400 Yuan.

Shanzhai maker develops Google and Apple love story to promote its Handset Gooapple

A phone that gets an iPhone look and runs Android OS is really nothing new to see. We’ve seen quite a few from Shenzhen Shanzhai makers. This Gooapple handset is another one of this kind, but the maker is taking a very special way to promote this phone. It made a promotion video that’s called When a Google Loves An Apple, and a very funny part is that background music is When a man loves a women. What would happen when a Google loves an Apple? In this video a Gooapple was born.

The Gooapple phone seems not bad in the video. It steals completely the design from iPhone, and runs Android OS inside. It’s powered by a 460Mhz MTK6516 chip, bringing with a 3.5 inches 480*320 capacitive touchscreen, dual camera with respectively 5-megapixel and 1.3-megapixel resolutions, WCDMA 3G connectivity, Android 2.2 OS. No words about its RAM and ROM. It will hit the market on April 10, with a seemingly nice price 999 Yuan (about $153 USD).

Video: BEON TS007 4.3-inch Android Handset

I’m very happy that I got the opportunity to put my hands on this Android handset TS007 from BEON Electronics Technology company . When playing with this phone, I also made a video to record this hands-on process.

Beside the obvious HTC style, the most impressing point definitely is the 4.3 inches 800*480 capacitive touchscreen that’s from Sharp. It’s powered by a 624Mhz Marvell pxa935 processor, packing 256MB RAM, 512MB ROM, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and supports WCDMA radio. It gets two cameras, and the rear one is 5 megapixels promising you high quality pictures. It measures 124*67*12.8mm, and weighs 150g.

Rockchip RK2818 based Android Handset Giayee Bengo

Rockchip RK2818 has been released for more than a half year now. We’ve quite a few Android tablets that’s powered by this chip, but so far there’s still no phones with it. A Shenzhen company called Giayee is about the fill this blank with a phone named as Bengo.

No need to say, you can easily find the phone gets a HTC style at its looking. It’s powered by a 660MHz RK2818 chip, coming with a 3.7 inches resistive touchscreen, 256 MB RAM, 512MB ROM, Bluetooth and WI-FI connectivity, 2-megapixel camera, a 1350mAh battery, and Android 2.1 OS. Still no information about the price and time of availability.
