In China, most people are poor. Even its most educated group are struggling for living. But a few are extremely rich, like this coal mine boss from China Shanxi, where these coal mine bosses are raising huge wealth, though their coal mines might be not safe enough to protect its workers’ lives.

You might think it low class, but for this coal boss, sitting in a sofa with private bodyguards around to watch waiters counting 200,000 one-yuan bills is a great way to show off his richness.

It’s said this coal mine boss always paid his bill with cash. The day he totally spent 200,000 Yuan at that restaurant but he only had 100,000 Yuan with him. The restaurant told him he could pay the rest next time, which irritated him greatly and he felt humiliated. So he send for two cars bringing 200,000 one-Yuan bills (about $30,000 USD)! The money may be not very big to you, but it’s really great work to count such an amount of 200,000 one-Yuan bills.

In just about five months this year the suicides of Foxconn Shenzhen employees has reached nice, which has make this company the center of the world’s attention, and its management to workers and rough working environment are being widely questioned.

Today a video that also leaked the company’s management problems was published on web. It happened at Foxconn’s Beijing factory. Two workers were beaten by over ten factory security guards in group, and some workers that trying to stop the beating also got beaten. The cause is a small conflict between a worker and a security guard when workers are clocking in. The latter then recalled other guards with an interphone and said ‘Somebody is making trouble’. The guards came, and without saying anything they began beating.

The video is circulating on Chinese website receiving many comments. Some that claimed to be familiar with the company said such incidents are not rare to see in Foxconn.

‘Super Boy’ is a male Idol competition in China, Which is hold every two years. Its second one just started the first selection about two weeks, but a super star has made. Cross-dressing boy Liu Zhu, a music school student majoring in composition from Sichuan, now has no rivals in winning the public’s attention. His name became the hottest search term on the biggest Chinese search engin Baidu, and topics for discussing him flood Chinese websites. All these are because of his pretty feminine looking, sweet voice, and, of curse, his talent in singing.

As you might have guessed, many doubted his gender. A rude judge with a stage name ’Anni Meigui’ ( the one in red) that is completely lacking of profession even disrupted several times his singing to question his gender and yelled ’ I doubt you are male’. She recalled Chinese netzens to flesh search Liu Zhu. (Flesh Search is a term used by Chinese netzens, which means to dig and publish a person’s personal information together on Internet). More ridiculously, she even suggested a face in face ‘gender checking’ at once, and asked Liu Zhu that he liked female or male judge to do the checking. The other two judges are more professional, especially the other female judge, who said their responsibility was to judge his singing and other things should be left to the organizers. She encouraged Liu Zhu to focus on his singing in spite of being interrupted.

At the end of video there is an interview.

Q: We saw the judge kept questioning your identity. Do you feel bad for it?

A: It’s OK, I’ve got used to it. I knew I would face questions. It’s normal.

Q: You are a boy, why you don’t dress like a boy to this selection?

A: Because I’ve dress like this since I was a child. It’s more nature to keep my dressing style. If I change my dressing for this selection especially, I think it’s very fake.

Q: I have a question. You are really a boy, but do you also dress like a girl in your daily life?

A: Oh…I don’t know how to answer your question. I dress the same way in my daily life, and I’m a real boy.

This video has viewed 2,465,743 times on youku.com in five days. Most of the comments below the video are supportive to Liu Zhu, but mad at the the rude judge Anni Meigui’s behaviors. Some said she’s trying to gain fame by acting in such an ugly way, and suggested to give her a Fresh Search.

After leaving Google China, Kaifu Lee launched its startup Innovation Works in Beijing. According to Kaifu Lee, the mission of his company is to build China’s Silicon Alley, by helping those young Chinese entrepreneurs who’ve got innovative ideas but lack of financial support to realize their dreams. Last week, Kaifu Lee was interviewed by Chinese medias on Abu Dhabi Media Summit, and his words about his recruitment requires has stirred quite a bit of buzz on the web.

Mr. LEE said, they received 7000 resumes just on the day the company announced its establishment, and the applicants that were selected for the next round had to answer three questions: How many lines of codes you’ve written? Are you willing to work 80 hours a week at minimum? Are you willing to accept a sharp decrease in your salary?

He said if China want to challenge Silicon Valley’s dominating position in innovation, this kind of diligence is a must.

Today Baidu.com was attacked by hackers. The attack started at about 7 AM the Beijing Time, and lasted several hours. Right now Baidu seems to have controlled the situation, and its search service has been recovered, though some of its Internet services are still unavailable to its users. During the hack, the WHOIS information showed Baidu.com’s DNS on its registrar Register.com was illegally changed several times. A picture with ‘IRANIN CYBER ARMY’ words on it ever appeared under baidu.com at the early stage, showing that possibility that the hackers are from Iran.

Baidu.com is the biggest Chinese language search engine, and takes about 70% Chinese language search market share in 2009. But the company is also notorious for unindexing webpages in its search result that China government is unhappy with.

Xiangli Tao was a 34 years old Chinese farmer with only five years education in a primary school, but right now this self-taught man is surprising the world with his big invention, a submarine! Tao said he never learn any theory about how to build a submarine, but just “feel it”. The submarine body is made of 5 oil drums, and costs him about 30,000 Yuan (about $4411 USA Dollars), while he only earns 1000 Yuan a month in Beijing. All the parts of the machine were from secondhand markets. He has made a successful diving show with His homebrewed submarine in a reservoir in Beijing on October 13, 2009. In the show, the diving totally lasted five minutes, and reached a depth of 5 meters. According to Tao Xiangli, besides this submarine, he had many other inventions, which he can’t make them real products because the lacking of money. He hoped his submarine can draw some investors to invest this invention business.

The video bellow is the diving show. The Diving is from the 2nd minute.

What we saw in the video above is very successful, but before the success, Xiangli Tao has failed many times. The diving test is not only hard, but also very dangerous. the video below shows a failing test carried on September 9. Tao even needed other people to pull himself and his machine out of the water. Tao received big laugh from other people, but he didn’t give up.

Don’t understand Chinese? Hmm, fortunately we found a video with English captions. Go and see what Tao Xiangli said about himself and his submarine.

Google China will hold a meeting to announce kaifu Lee’s resignation on 9 AM of 4th September Beijing Time. No comments have been available from Google till now. Rumors about the leaving of kaifu Lee from Google have been circulated around Chinese Internet over years, but this time it’s a confirmed one.

Super Baozi is the newest internet star in China. Baozi is a traditional food in China, but the Super Baozi we are talking about is an animation figure. Here are two short permances of the Super Baozi, the first one is: Dragon fist. The second one is :Super Baozi VS Sushi man. You may not understand the music, but I think you would love Super Baozi by just watching it. Chinese people have enough of the poor chinese animations, and Super Baozi makes them scream. The creator Sun haipeng became famous over night on Chinese internet. He introduced his animation as following:

Super Baozi, being tired of being in Catering,is longing for developeing in Recreation. With intense enthusiasm and strong perseverance, he has learned to sing songs and to play nunchakus.

Enjoy it!
