Cloned In China

HOTT  MD500 Android MID  has brought up some buzz when it made its first appearance at CeBIT back in march, for its cheap price that’s just 92 dollars. But sadly this is just for dealers. The retail price is a bit higher in fact. Recently after 5 months from its debut, HOTT finally started to ship this product in China, and the price is 899 Yuan, which is around $133 dollars.

As we’ve known before, HOTT MD500 is based on a Rockchip RK2808 chip, so it didn’t upset us much when we learned it run the out of date Android 1.5, for everybody knows that RK2808 is only able to support Android 1.5 and 1.6. As a RK2808 device it has advantage in video playing. It can handle 720p videos and support numerous formats including RM/RMVB, AVI, FLV, MPG, DAT, VOB, MP4, ASF, WMV, MKV, TS. Other specs include a 5 inches 800×480 resistive touchscreen, 128MB RAM, and 4GB storage.
