The iPad hype has driven many Shanzhai makers enter into the tablet market, and their weapons are, of curse, iPad knockoffs.A few of these products that reported on this website runs Windows 7 with price around 3000 Yuan. Pretty expensive. So how difficult for Shanzhai players to build these products is definitely a normal question coming to people that have question about the price.

A DIY master-hand with his DIY tablet that’s called ‘DIY Shanzhai iPad’ by him, shows that you, too, can build a Windows XP/7 tablet for yourselt, though the looking might be not so good as the Shanzhai products’. He assembled all the parts himself. Based on a hp 2530p motherboard, this DIY tablet is able to runs Windows XP and Windows 7 with a touchscreen. It cost him around $300 USD.
