Rockchip Smart Phone Android prototype handset spotted in the wild

Rockchip announced its Android-enable chipset RK2808 back in Last July, in a time that every single Android powered device could gain lots of attention from the world. At that time, Rockchip told the world that RK2808 based Android MIDs and handsets would come very soon. Well we’ve seem RK2808 based MID, like the Ramos W7 MID, but RK2808 based phones failed to make appearance all the time.
Today Rockchip finally unveiled the first RK2808 based phone. It’s just a prototype, called Smart Phone. Rockchip is just a solutions provider, so this prototype is still waiting for a manufacturer to put into real products. Of course there’re still no worlds about the price and availability. Rockchip is known as a PMP solutions provider, and it brings its Video handling advantage to this phone. Smart Phone comes numerous codecs, including H.264, RMVB, MPEG-4, AVS, WMV9, and supports 720p videos. Currently other specs are still not disclosed. When there’s more information comes out we will definitely have you updated. Please stay tuned.
