After leaving Google China, Kaifu Lee launched its startup Innovation Works in Beijing. According to Kaifu Lee, the mission of his company is to build China’s Silicon Alley, by helping those young Chinese entrepreneurs who’ve got innovative ideas but lack of financial support to realize their dreams. Last week, Kaifu Lee was interviewed by Chinese medias on Abu Dhabi Media Summit, and his words about his recruitment requires has stirred quite a bit of buzz on the web.

Mr. LEE said, they received 7000 resumes just on the day the company announced its establishment, and the applicants that were selected for the next round had to answer three questions: How many lines of codes you’ve written? Are you willing to work 80 hours a week at minimum? Are you willing to accept a sharp decrease in your salary?

He said if China want to challenge Silicon Valley’s dominating position in innovation, this kind of diligence is a must.
