China Unicom begins to ship Motorola XT701

Motorola XT701 is the first Android handset customized for China Unicom. The phone was spotted in last mid December, and the revealed innovative design and nice specs were very impressive to us at that time. Today China Unicom begins to put the phone on its official shopping website vsens.com to accept orders, with a price tag of 4,299 Yuan (about $632 USD), compared to 5,880 Yuan for 16GB version iPhone on the same website.
Different from what’s reported before that it would run Android 2.1, the model for shipping now is running Android 2.0. Other basic specs listed on the shopping page are a 600 Mhz TI OMAP 3430 processor, a 3.7-inch 480×854 WVGA capacitive touchscreen, 256MB of RAM, 512MB of ROM, 5-megapixel camera, 802.11 b/g WIFI/WAPI, and 3.5mm headphone jack. The phone measures 115.95x 60.90 x 10.9mm, and weighs 139g. It supports WCDMA and GSM qualband and its battery life is very attractive. The 1390mAh battery it comes with boats 300-550 minutes talking time and 130-200 hours standby time.
