We’ve heard a lot that the iPad launch has greatly exited Shenzhen Shenzhai players. Their Shanzhai phone business has been subsiding, so, new opportunity is needed. iPad, is a big one to them. It’s said that after Steve Jobs unveiled iPad, many of them started to plan their iPad knockoffs, hoping to catch up the upcoming iPad selling craze. We also learned from some reports these iPad knockoffs would be powered by Android.

This 7-inch Android tablet is an example. Though from any point we can’t see any similarity between it and iPad, it was promoted as a China edition iPad, trying to gain some luck from the word ‘iPad’.This Android device is based on Rockchip’s RK2808 chipset, with a 600MHZ ARM9 processor, a 7 inches 800X480 touchscreen, and a front camera. No released time and price were specified, and the maker is not named. It’s said it would be available around the Chinese New Year ( begin on Feb 23), but that’s definitely an optimistic estimate. You know the Ramos W7 MID, which is also based on RK2808 and announced three month ago, still fails to appear in the market.
