Meizu mPad? Meizu CEO J.Wong says ‘No’

The Photoshop mPad
In these days, iPad is definitely the hottest word on tech websites. you just can’t ignore it, even you are living in China and only surf Chinese websites. Meizu, because of the similarity its M8 bears to Apple’s iPhone, was often mentioned while people were talking about Apple in China. So, in some discussions about iPad, the question “Will Meizu follow this time to launch a mPad” is normally raised.
It went even more further. several picture appeared on a Chinese tech forum ( this post has been removed) that were said to be Meizu’s upcoming tablet Mpad. The people who published these pictures said Meizu was going to launch its mPad, with a name Mone, and interestingly, he added that the Mone would come with flash support and could do multitasking. Later stories about Meizu’s tablet began to blow through Chinese major tech websites. But it turned out that these pictures were photoshop work from a Meizu fans, who has made a disclaimer on Meizu’s official forum to clarify the rumor and apologized to Meizu, saying he just did that for fun.
Well, these statements did little to help stop the mPad speculations, even in Meizu’s official forum. Actually, that those pictures were proved to be fake just can’t prove no mPad in the future. But words from Meizu’s CEO J.Wong showed that Meizu did have no plan to launch a mPad. J.Wong is a very active user of Meizu’s official forum, and would like to answer questions about Meizu’s product developments and plans from M8 users there. Again, J.Wong answered the mPad question in the forum, said:
” Stop the photoshop work. I has no interest to create a big MP4! Isn’t the shame enough?”
Well, these words are enough to clarify the company has no tablet plan, but the word ’shame’ is a bit confusing. Does J.Wong think that M8 copies iPhone is a shame? If so, there might be great changes at design on M9. Let’s wait and see.

The photoshop doesn’t even look very good. But I agree, Meizu should first finish their FW.
