Hanvon Touchpad Tablet and WISEreader e-readers at CES 2010

Hanvon, commonly known as Hanwang in China, is the biggest ebook reader manufacturer in China. The company’s e-reader sales in 2009 hit 500,000. At this CES, Hanvon brought its Touchpad Tablet and its WISEreader e-reader product line to the show, drawing lots of attention from the industry.

The Hanvon Touchpad Tablet gets a 10-inch display, with multi-touch support, and runs Windows 7 OS. The device comes with a electromagnetic panel to support its handwriting recognition. It will have two versions, one based on Intel ULV platform, and the other based on Intel Atom platform. According to the company, Hanvon Touchpad Tablet will hits the China market in March, and the price will depend on the configuration, ranging from 3,999 Yuan (about 588 USD ) to 6,999 Yuan (about 1029 USD ).

Hanvon’s WISEreader line gets 5 ebook readers currently, including N500, N618, N628, N638, and N800. All these ebook readers get a Vizplex e-ink display, ranging from 5 inches to 8 inches. Like the Touchpad Tablet, all of them, except the N638, come with a electromagnetic panel to support handwriting recognition.
