I just wanted to give everyone reading these post a little update...

Ylmf really helped me to make the transition to Linux. But since installation on my 2 machines I have upgraded my laptop to 10.04 LTS and it kept my Ylmf XP-look alike settings. But on my desktop, thanks to my new found positive experiance with Linux, I felt confident mooving up to the true ubuntu distribution and I have installed 64Bit Desktop ubuntu 10.04 LTS.

I couldn't be happier.

To Login just type YlmfOS as the user name and password just enter without typing anything. It worked out for me. try it.

I had the same problem with Y asking for a log in and password when I wanted the "try" live rather than install. What I did on that log in screen was click on the other options -- don't remember which one actually worked except it was one of the failsafe loads (I was getting frustrated). I restarted (holding down F12), again chose "try" and bingo the log in screen was gone. Now that I've got it up on the screen, I don't know what all the fuss is about. What part of this is like Windows?? Looks like good ol Linux to me.
