$161 Windows XP netbook Aojie X100A
Guys, we are not talking about a Shanzhai smartphone, but a netbook that runs Windows XP. But, really, even in China the domestic market, many Hisilicon K3 platform Windows mobiles sell at a higher price. we’ve ever reported some unbelievably cheap netbooks here, like the $73 dollars sungworld netbook, and the $98 Lanyu netbook, but both of these two netbook are shipped with WinCE and a 7 inches display. Aojie X100A comes in a higher class with Windows XP OS, bringing a 1.6G ATOM N270 processor, 10.1-inch display, Intel GMA 950 integrated Graphics, 512MB RAM, 4G flash storage, 1.3-megapixel webcam, two USB ports, and a 3-cell LI-ion 1200mAh battery with weight of 1.06kg. The 4GB storage is a little small for today’s computer, but, man, a Windows XP netbook with such a price could really hit something big in markets like China where its huge population of factory workers mostly earns about $160 dollars a month with long working time.

I bought this with the 10.5 hour battery pack and the 2 GB Crucial upgrade from Amazon after continued delays from Dell on my new Vostro 1520 notebook with Xp.
This is a wonderful product. I have briefly tried typing on a number of netbooks since last fall, and this is the only one that had a decent keyboard just big enough to accommodate my hands and not result in multiple typing errors.
I was skeptical of the 10.5 hour battery claim, but it seems to be accurate. I can be on the net all day if I need to, and the recharge rate from 3% to 100% when the unit is off seems very fast.
I also like the fact that it uses Xp (as all the netbooks do) rather than being loaded down with Vista.
The drive is plenty big for my needs, I have had no problems loading and running the full installation of Office 2003 Pro, and the display is brilliant.
Another thing, the little machine is just right for practical use when flying coach. I had some real problems trying to us
