Mystery Android MID is confirmed from Rockchip, RK2808 based
The Mysterious Android MID has caused quite a bit buzz around the blogosphere. Now the manufacture has been found out. It’s not Shenzhen SMIT , but Rockchip Electronics, a company from Fuzhou, China. The folks on PConline.com.cn were able to get their hands on this Mysterious Android MID, and played with it in two videos. this MID is just a prototype, supporting 760p decoding, but as you may have seem from the video, the web browsing is not smooth enough. According to the pconline.com.cn folks, the device didn’t support flash. Seems the Rockchip company still got things to do to improve the WI-FI support . Rockchip definitely won’t bring this prototype to real product itself, but just use it as a showcase to sell its RK2808 chipsets. Rockchip is famous in China for providing PMP chipsets to Chinese PMP manufacturers.
