Microsoft China to use black screen against Windows 7 piracy

Though there’s still more than one month left before Windows 7 official launch time, Microsoft China announced Windows 7 activation policy on 26 August. Again, Microsoft will use black screen technology to fight against Windows 7 piracy in China, which is enable through Windows 7’s activation process. Chinese Windows 7 users will get a 30-day free trial. During the trial period, users will be notified by Microsoft to active the software after the first three days trial. in the following 26 days, they will receive activation notification one time a day, and from the 25th to the 29th trial day, one time every 4 hours, and one time per hour in the 30th trial day. After the 30-days trial, users will be allowed to continue to use Windows 7 without activation, but Microsoft will turn their desktop into black screen every 60 minutes. On 22 October, 2008, Microsoft ever applied this black screen mechanism to combat Windows XP piracy in China.

    Is it possible to install and activate this china windows 7 outside of china? if it is possible and this version will get acces to microsoft update mui section (other language download)importing of this china version of windows 7 will be very… :D

    I don’t think so. The Windows 7 in that pictures may come from some channels that were not approved by Microsoft. It’s very possible that Microsoft will block these series codes in the future.
