“Low-end” HTC Click will sell for $500 in China
According Netease Tech, Jackie Zhang, the sales manager of Dopod, said that HTC would launch its low-end android handset Click firstly in China in Q4 2009, with a retail price of 3400 Yuan ($500). The words “low-end” and “$500″ putting together seem very funny. Most responses to this news on Netease are ironic, and people are thinking HTC are trying to fool them. One comment reads ” What makes HTC think it’s that easy to earn money from Chinese Customers?” The situation is really not optimistic for HTC Click if it sells for $500, because unlocked HTC G1 and Magic can be found everywhere in China ,respectively for about 2900 Yuan ($426) and 2200 Yuan ($323). So is there any reason for Chinese customers to spend $500 for a low-end Click?
