Cloned In China

Rockchip Electronics Company, a MP4 chip supplier from Fuzhou China, now has been ready for entering the mobile chip market. Recently they released three mobile chip, RK2718,RK272 and RK2808. Definitely RK2808 is the most eye-catching one. It’s the first mobile chip that supports Android in China. According to the news on Rockchip’s official website, Rockchip is planning to release a RK2808 base PMP between  July and Autumn , and then will launch their Android phone In October this year. Of curse their android phone will based on RK2808. If their android phone plan succeed, it’s not difficult to see that many Shanzhai phone makers will take the RK2808 solution to make their Android phones to beat the expensive brand ones. No doubt, All the Android phone fans in China are expecting this day to come, the earlier the better. Will Rockchip be able to duplicate the MTK  success in China phone market with their Android phone chip solution? it’s too early to tell.
